TOP BOTSWANAN OFFICIALS VISIT LAKE OSWEGO
September 20, 2010 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seven representatives from The Republic of Botswana Africa will be visiting The Bank of Oswego in Lake Oswego, Oregon on September 24, 2010. These Senior Government Officials from Botswana are involved with a specialized leadership development program sponsored by Transformation Systems International, an internationally-recognized and Portland-based Performance Leadership consulting organization.

Botswana is known worldwide as one of the best examples of good governance and transparency in all of Africa. Found within their transformative Vision 2016 (its 50th year as an independent nation) is a commitment to be a more productive, healthy and prosperous nation for all their people by the year 2016, Visiting officials will represent Botswana’s Defense Force, the Ministry of Labor & Home Affairs, and Botswana Export Development & Investment Authority—an autonomous private sector led organization.

Transformation Systems International specializes in working with a variety of organizations to create transformative performance. With the specific program called FLEX (Focused Leadership EXperience), international leaders benefit from benchmarking the leadership and organizational experiences of several successful organizations. These benchmark opportunities are combined with personal coaching and organizational planning to create breakthrough performance.

This is Botswana’s second benchmarking visit to The Bank of Oswego. In 2006, another group visited Lake Oswego and learned about the banking industry and leadership practices of Dan Heine, CEO of The Bank of Oswego. Mr. Heine was made an “Honorary Citizen” of this African country at that time. On this visit, Mr. Heine will discuss the American economy, state of the banking industry, his leadership philosophy and his bank’s culture.

Mark Maggiora, a Partner with Transformation Systems International and a Source Leader for The Performance Center, commented that “our purpose of benchmarking leaders and their organizations aid in our approach to developing transformational leaders. Transformation is about bringing into existence a new organizational future and requires the people themselves to transform by seeing and acting within the entity in a new way. Our guests in 2006 were very impressed with their visit to The Bank of Oswego (a start up community bank then) and Mr. Heine’s presentation and we are delighted that the bank has again accepted our invitation to host these Botswana leaders”.
