March 6, 2006 - LAKE OSWEGO, OREGON...The Oregon Business magazine recently announced that The Bank of Oswego is included in its 2006 list of the "100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon". The March edition lists The Bank of Oswego as being ranked 37th for the “best Small Companies to work for in Oregon.”

The survey has been conducted every year since 1995 by the Oregon Business magazine. Employees submit their responses to a job satisfaction survey, including benefits and workplace policies. The companies are then chosen by the survey results which are compiled on an anonymous basis. The rankings have been released in the March 2006 issue of Oregon Business.

Factors considered by the employees include: work environment; decision-making and trust; performance management and rewards; employee benefits; career development and learning; and attraction, retention and compensation. All public and private companies, non-profit organizations, and government agencies in the State of Oregon were eligible to participate. Last year, over 30,000 employees completed these surveys.

In learning of the news, Dan Heine, Chairman & CEO, commented that "we are indeed privileged to have such recognition in our first year of operation. Starting a new bank has significant operational and personnel challenges that create much stress for employees. Particularly challenging is bringing together a group of people diverse in their backgrounds, personalities and skills that can work together successfully as a high performance team. We are building a culture to attract and retain professionals who want to be a part of a "winning team" and who respect what it takes to get there. We had a very successful first year and I must salute our employees for performing at a high level and helping shape the desired culture for everyone in our bank. We truly care about our employees and it is gratifying that we scored so high given the challenges we have had as a start-up bank".

Just last month, The Bank of Oswego received national recognition for its unique and effective customer service strategies in the INC. Magazine, January 2006 edition.
