April 26, 2005 - LAKE OSWEGO, OREGON...Lake Oswego’s new community bank, The Bank of Oswego, will sponsor the upcoming Lake Run on May 7. The Lake Run, organized by the Lake Oswego Junior Women’s Club and the City of Lake Oswego, is the largest 12K run in the Portland metropolitan area. Proceeds go to local non-profit community resources, including the SMART Reading Program, Oregon Children’s Theater, Oregon Family Support Network, Girl Scouts and the Lake Oswego Public Library.

More than 5,000 participants and spectators are expected to attend The Lake Run and following Family Fun Festival, which is open to the general public at Millennium Plaza Park from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Festivities include food, entertainment, crafts and expo booths.

The 5K Run/Walk and 12K Lake Run begin at the intersection of State Street and Foothills Road and will end at Millennium Plaza Park at the intersection of 2nd and Evergreen Streets in downtown Lake Oswego. Race Packet pick up and registration begins at 6:30 a.m. in Millennium Plaza Park. The 5K run/walk begins at 8:00 a.m., the 12K Lake Run begins at 8:30 a.m., and the Kid’s Dash begins at 10:30 a.m.
